| Friday 21st - Kick-off! Befitting his advancing years and standing in life, Jeff's DECABRATION Kick-off!
will be a mature, klassy, posh-ish affair. Join host Glenn for an early evening
of Jeff's favourite things -- wine, cheese, olives (tapanade and whole), dried
and sundried this and that, caremelized such and such, and real take-out sushi.
Cocktails and nibblies it is. 21 January, 6 pm to 9 pm, 50 Simpson Ave
(Broadview and Gerrard). Kats and kids welcome. Saturday 22nd - Buffy-bration!By democratic process we will pick our 3 favourite Buffy episodes to watch and
sing to. Please indicate in advance what your 3 favourite episodes are by voting in the Buffy-bration! POLL. 2pm at Lara's- a lovely daytime activity and babies are welcome. As are infants (haha!). RSVP so we know how many snacks we need! - DECABRATION sooooooppreeeez! Rob and Ian have something cooked up. But it's a secret. Not even I know what it is. (Though I think it's about me. Or hockey. Never can tell with those boys, really.) But now I have a quick conspiratorial note from the boyz: Those
who are coming to help surrrrrpppppprrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeese Jeffrey must
delight him with surpreeeses, and those who are distant must
suuuuuurrrrrppppppppprrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeese someone in his name! Sunday 23rd - A romp at the AGO! We will gather at the AGO at 2 p.m. and wander, enjoying art - especially the Group of
Seven - and then take in a pint at the pub across the street (the
Village Idiot). Monday 24th - Waffle-bration! Whoever
you are and wherever you are - eat waffles! Savoury ones, sweet ones,
cooked ones, raw ones, waflfles are the perfect DECABRATION delicacy!
And if you're super lucky, David and Susan will make you waffles. Like
me. I'm super lucky. Tuesday 25th - Unicorn! You need corn. Movie night for DECABRATION. Carlton Cinemas. Movie starts at 7:05pm. Rabbit Hole directed by John Cameron Mitchell, starring Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman.I need corn. Everybody needs corn. Popcorn! Wednesday 26th - Dinner with a UK Satellite Drink-a-thon! Birthday
dinner will mean dining, drinking and devilry! Join me for dinner at Cranberries at 7:00 pm - 601 Parliament St. And Blair will be celebrating in his own way by drinking local beers in a UK pub of choice - most likely close to his new British home! Thursday 27th - Meowrrr purr purr purr! Meow
mowr meow meow r-r-r-r-r-r. Hiss. Mow mow mow meowwwr. Purr-r-r-r-r-r.
(I don't really know what she said but it's either ginger-haired
strippers or we'll be playing with a feather on a stick all night. Just go with it.) Friday 28th - Choices! Today, make a choice of what DECABRATION means to you. Option #1: On January 28, 1813, Pride and Prejudice was first published. So today, read your favourite Jane Austen book. Or better yet, read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Option #2: On January 28, 1958, LEGO patented their lego bricks, which are still compatible with bricks manufactured today. So build something constructive, or at least colourful, with LEGO. Option #3: Others have had their birthday today, including Sarah McLachlan (1968), Alan Alda (1936) and Elijah Wood (1981). Raise a glass and toast those who have joined the DECABRATION through strategic placement of thier own births! Saturday 29th - Hotnuts! More
fun then there's room for at the Beaver for this dragmanic evening of
disrepair. It's like if Lady Gaga were homeless. 1192 Queen St West. Sunday 30th - Saskatoon Schenanigans! What
adventures are in store? The bar is high when last time we ate at the
only Burmese restaurant in Canada! But I think we've got it figured out
- afterall, my favourit number is 302. |
